The National Trust commissioned a review education projects that inspired visitors to deepen their relationship to the properties. The research high-lighted the importance of hands-on experiences as well as the power of the arts to enliven places. One example is the collaboration between Fermynwoods Contemporary Art, National Trust staff at Lyvden New Bield & the artist Peter Randall-Page, whose sculptures were placed both within the roofless building & alongside the abandoned Elizabethan mounts and moats.
