Churchill Hospital

The Churchill Hospital in Oxford recently opened a major new Cancer Care centre. The project was to create a series of roof gardens for patients, visitors and staff. Planters and shelters with sedum roofs were built by Emanuel Hendry using traditional oak frame construction methods. Beds were planted with a range of shrubs and medicinal herbs, including salvias, lavenders and different forms of echinaceas. Volunteers have helped both with the planting and the up-keep of the gardens.
