feed the soil feed the planet
Food for the Earth is a research practice which begins with the question, ‘Where does food come from & where does food go?’ It inspires an ecological food culture which integrates natural food growing practices, cooking with seasonal, living foods & the age-old traditions of returning food nutrients back to the land to revitalize the soil. Food for the Earth supports a holistic food cycle of growing healing plants, nurturing joyful bodies & enlivening the spirit of community to sustain a planet in balance.
Through hands-on practices with organisations, we are dedicated to co-evolving creative & embedded solutions which are economic as well as ecological. Our current project PEAR, is a collaboration between Peach Pubs, The Fishes in Oxford & North Aston Organics. It makes visible the connections between a sustainable gastronomy & good soil husbandry by demonstrating how recycled food waste – the valuable resource we have coined as foodage – can be used to create compost for growing herbs.
